Overall sales of print books fell 2.6% in 2023, which is better than expected results for the publishing industry. Meanwhile, print book sales in adult nonfiction were bolstered by the release of several big-name memoirs and only dropped by 3.1% in 2023—which was much better than in 2022, when sales dropped 10.3%.
