Review Board FAQs
WHY DO YOU HAVE A REVIEW BOARD?
Writers must apply to our Review Board in order to be considered for our premium service because:
- We believe strongly in developing one-on-one relationships with our clients.
- We prefer to work with serious, habitual writers.
- We require strong writing in order to maintain good relationships in the literary community.
DO YOU CHARGE A FEE FOR THE REVIEW BOARD?
As advocates of the arts, we do not charge a fee for our Review Board. Although our Review Board cannot offer you specific critique of your work, our response will give you an honest indication of whether or not we believe your writing is strong enough for our Full Service client list. Also, we don't submit our clients' work to any markets that charge a reading fee.
DO YOU OFFER CRITIQUE TO APPLICANTS?
No. Our reply will indicate whether or not your writing is strong enough for our services.
HOW DO I KNOW YOU WON'T STEAL MY WRITING?
We have been in business since 1994 because we are trustworthy and ethical. If you mail your writing to our Review Board, send an appropriately sized self-addressed, stamped envelope and we will be happy to return your materials (otherwise, your samples will be recycled). If you e-mail your writing to us, it will be deleted from our secure server if you choose not to work with us. We respect all writers and their works. DO YOU TAKE COMMISSION and WILL I MAKE ANY MONEY BY USING WRITER'S RELIEF?
We work with creative writers, not with freelancers wishing to submit writing to commercial magazines and newspapers. Most of the time there is no immediate monetary payoff to becoming a serious creative writer. It takes lots of time and talent to turn a profit in creative writing. Because of this we do not work based on commission; our work is based on flat fees—just like your gym, landscaper, accountant, or other service provider. For more on this visit our main FAQ page.
