Many potential authors think that writing children’s books is easy. The truth is that writing children’s books can be as difficult, and often harder, than writing for the adult market.
Just because your children enjoy the stories you’ve written does not mean that an editor will. The level of writing children’s books has increased over the years. Don’t write down to your young audience. A good story does not need to rhyme or have a moral, and you don’t need an illustrator when approaching agents.
